How to build the PERFECT RUNNING PLAYLISTS!

Legendary running coach Jack Daniels figured out that, on average, we take 180 steps each minute while running, or 90 with each leg.  But you don't have to run with a metronome to hit 180 steps per minute.  Your playlist can do that for you!  There are a ton of songs in the 90 bpm ball park and you can also use the 180 bpm of course.

Running Music Mix  is a site that has the bpm's listed for a ton of songs.  There is also software you can buy to analyze your songs in your iTunes library (cadence desktop pro).  Jog.fm is also a site I use where you can put in your average mile pace and that comes up with songs for you too!  This is even more accurate then just assuming you're around 180 bpm!

Some of my favorites in the 170-190 bpm range:

Can't Stop - Red Hot Chili Peppers
Welcome to Paradise - Green Day
Monkey Wrench - Foo Fighters
Love is a Battlefield - Pat Benetar
Fat Bottomed Girls - Queen
Little Lion Man - Mumford and Sons
Give it Away Now - Red Hot Chili Peppers
Hey Ya - Outkast
Lose Yourself - Eminem
The Middle - Jimmy Eat World
Sugar We're Going Down - Fall Out Boy
Audience of One - Rise Against
Architects - Rise Against

Rise Against is my FAVORITE running music! I will be back with more as running season is quickly approaching!!!
