Chicken Shawarma



This was better than I thought it was going to be!! Definitely going to be making this often!

Chicken:
2 tbsp lemon juice
1 tsp curry powder (I did a heaping tsp)
2 tsp evoo
1 tsp salt (you can go less if you're watching sodium, the other spices make up for it!)
1/2 - 3/4 tsp cumin
3 cloves of garlic, pressed
1 lb chicken cut into strips

Sauce:
1/2 cup plain non fat greek yogurt
2 tbsp tahini
2 tsp lemon juice
1/4-1/2 tsp salt
1 clove of garlic, pressed

Other ingredients:
Pita bread
Sliced tomato
Lettuce

Combine all of the ingredients into a bowl for the chicken, except for the chicken, and whisk.  Add the chicken and marinate for at least 20 minutes.  Combine the ingredients for the sauce in a bowl and whisk.  Set to the side.  I used a saute pan for the chicken, but a grill or grill pan would also be nice.  Cook chicken until done.  Serve chicken and sauce with pita, lettuce and tomato.  Makes about 4 servings.
