My First 26.2

As I train for my first marathon, I'm always looking for ways to make it easier.  And luckily chocolate milk is one of those ways!!  Of course running is a big part of marathon training (duh), but recovery and rest days along with nutrition are also a big part of it.  Your body needs rest to repair itself.  Protein and carbohydrates, hence the chocolate milk, are needed after a long run or hard workout to build those muscle fibers back up and replenish the glycogen your body used during your run for energy.  Stretching, massage and icing your muscles (I'm doing this one as we speak, I just got done with a 10 mile interval run) are also ways to help your body recover so you can stay injury free and make your runs easier.

This is a great article speaking more in depth on some of these things, and it also includes some really good links to other running articles!! Let me know what you think or if you want to hear about a specific topic!
